Napa Wedding Inspiration: Glamour on the Ranch {Get to Know Quinn}

Why did you enter this contest?

It was kind of on a whim with one day left to enter. I honestly was a little hesitant and totally didn’t think I would be picked, but I figured I would never have the chance again and would be mad at myself if I didn’t go out on a limb and submit. Obviously, I am so happy I did!

What do you do for a living?

I am a media-marketing specialist at Entercom Sacramento.

What do you do for fun?

Honestly, Adam (my fiancé) and I are such homebodies, that we enjoy hanging out together at home. We’ve been doing a lot of work on our house and front/backyards – is it weird to find that fun? Ha, we do! When I get a wild hair, I like to go out for a great meal, or a cool experience with friends. I love musicals and plays, from local to Broadway productions. I love to cook, as well.

Tell us your love story. How did you know he was THE one?

Well, Adam and I met on Tinder. A real millennial romance story. I’m not a love-at-first-sight person, but Adam claims it was that for him. I actually really like the quote from The Fault in Our Stars: “I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”

It really was that way for me. With each date, I was more and more impressed with him and the way he treated me. I don’t know if there was a specific moment it clicked he was the one, it was more so a general feeling that crept up, but once that happened, it just continued to intensify.

Adam proposed at a beautiful lookout in Zephyr Point, South Lake Tahoe. His family vacations there every year (he is the youngest of six), so they were all there and knew it was going to happen. That was really special. He actually asked me to be his girlfriend in Tahoe four years ago. Safe to say, it’s a special place for us.

Tell us about your wedding day.

I should probably get to work on that more. We are planning Cabo San Lucas in December 2019. I’ve always loved a fall wedding, but that’s hurricane season in Mexico so we moved it back a few months.

It will be intimate, not too lavish. My plan in a destination is wedding to simply force everyone who is special to me to vacation with us! I look forward to a great playlist and memories that come out of the simple things, like great dinner time conversations and amazing toasts (listen up toasters – I want to laugh and cry!)

I want a carefree day for all who attend and to really savor my time with Adam. I can’t wait to see the look on his face when I walk down the aisle. Also, I’m 97% sure he’ll choke up during our first dance, which is adorable.

What did your husband/fiancé think about you entering this contest? What did he say when you became a finalist? What did you think when you were selected?

Adam was so excited for me when I was selected! He actually might have been more excited than me. He was like “You’re going to be in a magazine?!” He also wanted to know if we he going to be in it.

I was surprised! I was super excited to see the behind-the-scenes and inner workings of such a large shoot but I honestly didn’t know what to expect at all. Wendy just made it clear that it was going to be a big day!

Tell us about your cover model experience. What was the application/selection process like? What was your favorite part of the day? How did you feel afterwards?

Oh man, it was so fun! The application and selection process made me nervous. I’m not huge on talking about myself and all the great things about me, Adam, and our relationship, but it was nice to be able to verbalize everything I love about us. I don’t think I’ve really done that before.

The day was insane and long, but so much fun. I completely underestimated everything it takes to create a photo shoot and magazine spread. I was so impressed by the Real Weddings Team. Wendy was literally born to do this and has assembled amazing people to help; they are a well-oiled machine, and I couldn’t have chosen a better group of people to see me half naked for most of the day.

My favorite part of the day was seeing the masters at work; the styling of the sets, Wendy’s overall vision/direction, Lynsee and Melissa (my amazing hair and makeup team) work their wizardry and come up with so many different looks so fast. After the shoot, it was kind of a blur. I couldn’t believe it was over. It felt like it had just started, but also that we had been working on this for years at the same time! I am so grateful to have been apart of it, definitely top three coolest things I have ever done!
