Adding personal touches to your wedding is likely at the top of your must-do list, but when it comes to the actual execution, it may be easier said than done, especially if the idea of DIY makes you want to C-R-Y. Anais Event Planning & Design is here with a couple quick tips to make your wedding personal and intimate. Bonus: Zero craftiness required!

  • Make a simple yet eye-popping design statement: If you like several hues, use them all but in a planned away. For a bright Moroccan-Indian event last year, we chose all of the bride’s favorite hues by varying the palette from one table to the next. Each table had its own concentration of colors – if the linen on one table was magenta, the centerpieces were in different hues of the same color. The next table was all in varying shades of orange from linens to tabletop decor etc. To pull it off, overall cohesiveness was imperative so we kept napkins, chairs, flatware & glassware identical on all tables.
  • Create an outdoor lounge that feels like a living room. We love cozy alfresco seating areas that invite guests to ‘feel at home’. Either rent lounge seating or ottomans or see if the hotel will allow some of their lobby furniture to be incorporated at no additional cost!
  • Skip the childhood slide show and display photos instead. Projector screens and technician fees can add up. Why not scatter photos and make them available to guests throughout your reception?
  • Serve food and drinks that celebrate your heritage. This is especially fun when the couple has different cultural backgrounds!
