Tell us a little about you and your beloved:  Kristopher and I had been together for quite sometime and in August of 2009, while vacationing in Kauai with friends, Kristopher decided it was finally time to “pop” the question.
I immediately said yes, with tears streaming down my face with shear delight and love! We had planned a long engagement and then at the beginning of the year we got a huge surprise that we were expecting, so as Easter approached we made the decision to bump up the wedding.
We surprised our parents on Easter that we were going to get married in two months and that we were having it at my parent’s home in Gold River. Everyone was so supportive and helped us get the wedding of our dreams. Once the place was selected everything else just fell into place.
What was the most amazing part of your day?  The fact that we were able to get married amongst our closest family and friends and in my parent’s back yard made the day feel extremely special. We wanted the event to be an intimate wedding with the people who knew us and loved us! It was a spectacular day.
What else would you like to share about your big day?  I wanted the wedding to have a cocktail party feeling, and we decided not to do the traditional stuff. We opted for a dessert table with fabulous desserts made by my mom and also with the help of a few local bakeries really made the desserts feel special and everyone was able to get a bite of something they loved. My favorite part of the reception was seeing everyone enjoy the Cigar Bar area where we served some fabulous ports and cognac. It was fun to see everyone having such a great time, laughing and enjoying themselves.

Wedding Planner:  Myself. I am hoping to begin an event planning business, so I took on all the details of planning the wedding with a couple great assistants . . . my mom and one of my best friends Marcus Marquez of the L Wine Lounge and Urban Kitchen
Caterer:  L Wine Lounge and Urban Kitchen
Cake:  Babycakes did the cupcakes, Bella Bru did the cheesecake, Strawberries from Shari’s Berries and other goodies provided by my mom, Joyce Loehr
Flowers:  Blooming Art
Favors:  Carrie West, who is a good friend of the family, did my wedding favors — fabulous sugar cookies that tied into our wedding invitation.
Wedding Dress:  I had my dress made and designed by Caren Templet. She was AMAZING and getting me exactly what I had envisioned for my day!
Bridesmaid Dresses:  We had no bridesmaids and our 13 year old son, Ty, stood up for both of us.
Hair:  My hair was a combination of both my mother (she is a hair dresser) and myself.
Makeup: Becky Weisz (she works for Benefit inside the Roseville Galleria)
Invitations: TJ Strandberg of INK&IRON on Etsy, amazing invites and she pulled it out so quickly for me!
DJ/Entertainment/Band:  Lindsey Cook, she is an amazing up and coming musician who plays acoustic guitar and sings.
Honeymoon location:  Maui. . . it was perfect!
Any other of your wedding vendor(s) you’d like to call out?  I want to say thank you to my girlfriend Kerrie Kelly for actually doing the honors of marrying us on our very special day. It was amazing to have someone you know and love marry you.
First Dance Song:  We didn’t do the traditional first dance, but I did choose to walk down the aisle to Mama’s Song by Carrie Underwood. Sang by Lindsey Cook.
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now?   The best thing for me was only having two months to pull it all together. I recommend doing it this way. It left no room for second guessing yourself and made you go with your gut reaction which is usually always right! My other piece of advice is to always do what YOU want to do and make sure that it is the wedding is about you and your future spouse. It makes it very special and the beginning of a great marriage.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance?   There is nothing I would change. I got the wedding I never dreamed I wanted and then some…I got to marry my best friend!
