Tell us a little about you and your beloved.

I met my husband at Modesto junior college and our relationship continued at Sacramento State University where he graduated as an engineer and I graduated in biology.

He surprised me with a getaway to Carmel Highlands at the beginning of the pandemic in May of 2020. We stayed at the Tickle Pink Inn, and our room had a super romantic view. The day started with champagne, roses and chocolates; and later in the day, wine. We woke up to our beautiful view of the sea and cypress trees—I was just mesmerized by the views when he surprised me with a gorgeous ring 💍 and asked me to marry him. Of course, my answer was “YES!”

What was the best part of your wedding day?

The ceremony that happened at church, where the priest gave a meaningful speech and all the symbolic steps of the Bible, rosary, rings, candle, the rope. It was very beautiful and touching.

What else would you like to share about your big day?

It was magical to have a fall wedding—we had a beautiful afternoon with the warm tones of the fall leaves 🍁.

What advice would you give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now?

Make sure you let the photographer know you don’t want repetition of photos when you have two photographers. Also make sure you let them know who you must have a picture with. It can get very busy the day of that you forget about taking photos with family members. Also make sure you get a full-time planner who is on charge of picking up rentals, making payments, etc.

Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance?

I wouldn’t skip any special moments just because you are not on schedule—I wish we could have done some things that we had planned, but unfortunately we skipped them.
