It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means!  It’s Real Weddings Wednesday! Take a break from wedding planning and get inspired by Morgan + Jacob’s romantic wedding at Wolfe Heights Estates captured by Danielle Alysse Photography!  Enjoy!

Tell us a little about you and your beloved.

We met our freshman year of high school, but it was not until late in our senior year that we started dating. After spending the summer after our senior year together, we both decided it was important to pursue our original goals; Jake enlisted in the Air Force and Morgan moved to Arizona for college. Maintaining our relationship long distance was challenging, but we knew we were both committed for the long haul.
On one of our few trips home, we planned a getaway to San Luis Obispo. After a day of hiking and attending a food festival, we ended the day at the beach where we planned to take pictures at sunset. Much to Morgan’s surprise, Jake (with the help of his two older sisters) had additional plans. On the beach at sunset, down on one knee, Jake proposed and Morgan said YES!
Planning the wedding was an adventure! We set a wedding date for October 2020 and started to plan our dream wedding. Less than a year later plans changed due to the global pandemic. The vision of an October 2020 wedding looked less promising, so we made the difficult decision to postpone. Although the event in California would have to wait, we had our hearts set on getting married on our original wedding date; so we did. We got to keep our October wedding date, and we were blessed to have our dream wedding we planned for so long the following July, surrounded by all of our friends and family—the best of both worlds!

What was the best part of your day?

The best part of our day was getting to share our vows, once again, in front of ALL our friends and family!

What advice would you give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now?

  1. Although it can be stressful, enjoy the process because it truly flies by!
  2. Remember that the day is about you and your partner, so keep your wants and needs at the forefront.
  3. Make time for yourself and your new spouse! This day is what you’ve dreamed of, so soak up every detail you planned and every moment of the day.

What else would you like to share about your big day?

If we could change anything about our day, we would do a first look and family photos before the ceremony to allow for more “us time” during the cocktail hour!
