Tell us a little about you and your beloved.

We actually met online through OKCupid! We were both getting tired of the online dating scene and I told myself I’d go on “one last date” and if it did not work out, I was going to take a break from dating altogether. We went on our first date in Midtown (Sacramento), and since I’m originally not from Sacramento, he wanted to show me everything (we ended up going to about 6-7 places during the evening—it was a blast!). David proposed privately after celebrating our 7-year anniversary at one of our favorite hotels in Oakland (it has sentimental meaning to us). The proposal was very simple and sweet and so “us”. We used Wedgewood Weddings to plan our wedding [and] they were fantastic with every detail!

What was the best part of your day?

I think the most amazing part was either getting dressed in the dressing room with my family and enjoying all of the emotions and champagne together, or our first look. We were both so emotional seeing each other and it was a really special moment that we got to share.

What advice would you give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now?

Those tiny little details that you might be worried over… no one will remember those things (trust me, not even you!). Think about it this way: will people remember the color of the napkins in 30 years? Nope! People will remember how they felt at your wedding the most and as long as everyone has a great time – that is all that will matter!

Anything you would have done differently?

I would have taken a moment to enjoy a slice of my wedding cake and gone table to table to thank everyone for coming. I was so overwhelmed (in a good way) by everything going on that we missed that opportunity. I went to a wedding where the couple went table to table and thanked everyone for coming and it made us feel special as guests. I also thought it was very classy.
