Tell us a little about you and your beloved.
We met in college at Chico State University. We were together for about 3.5 years when he proposed at my favorite beach in Laguna. Wedding planning was fun at first but then became stressful as we postponed our original wedding in 2020 due to Covid. Postponing turned out to be a blessing because we were able to change some details; the best change I made was buying a different dress that was much more my style (I bought the first one in a rush).
What was the best part of your day?
Marrying Andrew [and] being surrounded by loved ones!
What else would you like to share about your big day?
Our day was great. The ceremony was my favorite. It was very personalized and special. Our venue was all inclusive which make it easier to plan everything. They supplied the DJ, food, drinks, furniture, set up and clean up, etc…
What advice would you give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now?
Make sure you think about you and your future spouse only. I’m a people pleaser, so it added unnecessary stress to planning trying to make sure everyone else would have a good time that I forgot to think about Andrew and I. Also, make sure you really do research on your vendors, look at references and reviews. [Lastly], photography is important! We do not regret our choice of photography at all, they went above and beyond! We still look at our photos everyday hanging in our house and watch our video often! We cherish them so much.
Anything you would have done differently?
Honestly, I probably would have had my wedding be smaller and would have gotten married on my family’s property instead of a fancy venue, our wedding was beautiful and everything it needed to be but like I said before, we should have thought more our each other and not other people.
