Tell us a little about you and your beloved.
We met our Freshman year of college at UC Davis during band camp in 2014. We are both marching band kids at heart and loved high school band so much we decided to pursue marching band at the collegiate level. We had a few chemistry classes and really bonded within that first year. James asked Nyny to be his girlfriend the summer of 2015 during a picnic at Community Park in Davis, CA. James proposed to Nyny on January 29, 2022 at the same park that he asked her to be his girlfriend back in August 2015.
What was the best part of your day?
The best part of our wedding day was the time spent with family and friends. We had a few surprises—lion dances and mariachi band performances—so it was great to see everyone’s reaction.
Advice from the couple:
Start early and make a detailed budget list! We found that a joint email account was incredibly beneficial for both of us to engage in the planning process. It was also super helpful to have vendors who worked together before. The coordination was seamless.
Anything you would have done differently?
Nothing – all our vendors made our wedding night so special.
