Sacramento Wedding Inspiration: Amore al Fresco {Get to Know}

What made you want to model for this photo shoot?

We were so excited when the Real Weddings team asked us to model for this styled shoot. It’s an extremely special time in our lives, being newlyweds, and we loved that we got to keep the wedding bliss going with this photo shoot. We had a blast!

What was your favorite part of modeling?

I would have to say it was playing dress up in all the different wedding gowns. They were all so gorgeous and it was so fun to try on different looks! Also, let’s not forget about rocking out to some 80s music while getting my hair and makeup done with our videographer, Justin, and makeup artist, Jen. Those were great moments!

What was your favorite part of this shoot? Did you relate to the concept?

My favorite part of the shoot was seeing everything come together on our last shoot. The décor, food and details were amazing! The concept was “Fruit and Flowers.” We could definitely relate to the flowers part, since our wedding was at a garden venue. We loved it!

What do you do for a living?

I am an Events Manager for a digital services tech firm in the Silicon Valley. I love what I do and seeing all my events come to life after months of planning is a great feeling. Rhodney owns his own services company and works in the real estate industry. He is now getting into appraisals.

What do you do for fun?

We absolutely love to travel! Our family and friends always jokingly ask if we are ever home because we like to plan a bunch of mini getaways over the weekend. We’d have it no other way. You only live once, right? Let’s go out and see this world. In addition, we love anything outdoors – camping, hiking, going to the beach…you name it!

Tell us about your love story. How did you meet? What was the proposal like?

I’ve known my husband since I was 12. He is my brother’s best friend. I’ve always secretly had a crush on him, but he was six years older. It wasn’t until I was 23 and a recent college graduate who moved to Southern California to explore job opportunities and Rhodney lived in San Diego at the time and well, that’s where our love story kicked off!

He proposed on my 28^th birthday – a complete surprise. I had no idea we were going on a hot air balloon in Napa Valley, it has always been a bucket list item of mine. As we were up in the air, taking in the view, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the most romantic, best feeling in the world. I truly am one lucky lady.

Tell us about your own wedding.

We got married at a venue in San Diego county. Most would describe it as a Secret Garden fairytale type of wedding. The venue is known for its chandelier galore, vintage and garden themed atmosphere. As cliché as it sounds, it truly was the best day of our lives. To have all our family and friends come together on this day to celebrate our love is an indescribable feeling. To all our amazing family and friends – we love you, and truly feel so honored and blessed.

What was it like modeling with your real significant other?

We had so much fun! It was a mixture of playfulness and seriousness, and I love that we got to do this together. It was so special.

If you could offer any advice to future brides, what would it be?

I would love to offer future brides the advice that many people shared with me: enjoy every second of your special day. Take it all in and just enjoy! It’s your once in a lifetime fairytale moment, and the day truly does go by too quickly.
