Sacramento Wedding Inspiration: Grand Dames {Get to Know Josephine}

Why did you enter this contest?

I entered the contest because I think it’s every girl’s dream to try on wedding dresses and feel like a princess for a day, and this would be the perfect way to live out that dream.

What do you do for a living?

I am a research coordinator for oncology.

What do you do for fun?

In my spare time I love hanging out with my kids and my husband. Any family time we get together is fun for us.

Tell us your love story.

I met my husband when we were both working at Old Navy nine years ago. I saw him running in late to work one day and I was smitten! He proposed at our oldest son’s first birthday, in front of all of our friends and family. He is never one to really do outgoing things, so the fact that he did this in front of all of our loved ones really meant a lot to me. I knew he was the one when I realized that he was literally the best person I’ve ever met. He is kind, loving and very patient with me. I know I’m a bit of a handful, but he just balances me. I can’t picture myself without him.

Tell us about your wedding day.

Our wedding was at Wise Villa Winery in Lincoln (such a gorgeous place). Our color palette was a blush and gold theme, very romantic and soft. My favorite moment was seeing him for the first time waiting for me to walk down the aisle. I’ve always waited for that moment and when it finally happened, it was perfect. I hope the one thing guests say about our wedding was that they enjoyed themselves!

What did your husband/fiancé think about you entering this contest? What did he say when you became a finalist? What did YOU think when you were selected?

When I told my husband, (fiancé at the time), that I entered he thought it was pretty cool. When I told him I was a finalist he was pretty proud and supportive. When I got selected it was a pretty exciting feeling. Almost surreal!

Tell us about your cover model experience. What was the application/selection process like? What was your favorite part of the day? How did you feel afterwards?

The application/selection process was really seamless! My favorite part of the day was every time I was with my hair and makeup girls. My hair and makeup team were a dream to work with! They helped me get through the day and really helped me feel at ease. Afterwards I felt exhausted!
