When we saw Michelle on SPARKLE Bridal Couture’s Instagram, we knew right away how perfect she would be for our “Rapunzel” styled shoot! This self proclaimed vintage- and antique-lover had a blast watching our talented and creative team come together to make this unique decor inspiration shoot. Read on to learn about Michelle’s favorite part of modeling and her sweet love story.

We hope you enjoy “Rapunzel” as much as Michelle (and we) did!

RW: What made you want to model for this photo shoot?
MC: I received a call from Sparkle Bridal Couture and she said that Wendy from Real Weddings saw my picture on their Instagram and wanted to know if I would like to model for one of their shoots. I was immediately intrigued because I thought to myself, “When would I get to do this again? I’m only going to be a bride once, so what the heck!”

RW: What was your favorite part of modeling?
MC: I was totally spoiled! I was able to relax, get dolled up and just be myself. I also really enjoyed working with the team. They were all so amazing and fun, and their attention to detail was extraordinary.

RW: What was your favorite part of this shoot? Did you relate to the concept?
MC: I loved seeing what goes on behind the curtains and literally witnessing all of it come together. I wasn’t sure what to expect of the theme at first but boy did they pull it off! I was blown away at all of the details: the food, cakes, invites, décor, etc. I am totally a vintage, antique, funky, unique-loving kind of gal so this was totally up my alley.

RW: What do you do for a living?
MC: I work in Human Resources in the public sector.

RW: What do you do for fun?
MC: During my free time, I love to go to yard sales, antique stores, farmers markets and spend time outdoors. I am also a rescue mama with 3 doggies and 3 kitties so those guys sure keep me busy!

RW: Tell us about your love story.
MC: He’s going to hate me for telling this story, but we actually met online. For our first date, we went to play mini golf. He surprised me with a single rose and we immediately connected. Two years later, he wanted to take a trip to Fort Bragg, CA in the middle of a storm and while he was extremely sick. I was so irritated because you know what grumps guys can be when they’re sick and I couldn’t understand for the life of me why he still wanted to go! We didn’t let the weather ruin our trip and went to get those funky looking plastic ponchos so we could take a walk on the beach. About a mile in, and soaking wet because those ponchos couldn’t hold back the rain, he got down on one knee. I was completely blown away and of course said YES!

RW: Tell us about your own wedding.
MC: We are getting married at Fausel Ranch in Placerville in May 2017. We absolutely fell in love with the ranch and with Deanna and David. Our wedding will have a vintage feel to it with mismatched china plates and electric insulators for candleholders.

RW: If you could offer any advice to future brides, what would it be?
MC: Enjoy every minute of it, take your time, but start early and slow. Our wedding is still a few months away, but we started planning and collecting things right after we got engaged, and now we have (almost) everything we need. We have been able to really enjoy our engagement without the rush and pressure of planning the wedding.
