Tell us a little about your company? We are a family owned party and equipment rental company.
When did you establish your business? 1957
What sets you apart from your competition? We are the only family rental in Sacramento that does equipment and party rentals.
Where do you find inspiration? My family. I love the history of the company.
Kerri’s Grandparents, who started Aba Daba Rents.
What professional organizations are you a member of? ARA & CRA
What trend do you see coming for weddings this year and beyond? DIY is pretty big; rustic and vintage feel still in.
Can you share a funny/embarrassing/touching story about one of your clients? We were setting up a tent on a hill and it started to slide (rainy weather).
What’s your favorite comment/compliment that one of your clients has given you/your business? Telling me they love me and it’s why they keep coming back. I love the customers we see continuously.
What is your favorite fun thing to do locally? Love to find new places to eat and new things to do with the family.
What’s your favorite local charity? Resolve
What’s your favorite local restaurant? Broderick’s
Do you have a secret vice or indulgence? What is it? Dutch Coffee
Do you have any hidden talents? Nothing hidden; just very good at throwing parties.
If you weren’t in the business that you are in now, what other business/profession would you have liked to have done? Probably a counselor or teacher.
If you were to plan your own wedding, or re-do your wedding, what element(s) would be most important to you? I would have a wedding instead of eloping–large, dancing, a big party.
What advice would you give to soon-to-be-married couples? Enjoy every minute. Give in a little to what either other wants for their big day as the day belongs to both of you.
