Set against the stunning mountain backdrop of Lake Tahoe, Mary and Jeffrey celebrated their wedding day at Everline Resort + Spa with a celebration full of heart, laughter—and some unforgettable wind. After meeting on Hinge and getting engaged at Baker Beach in San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge behind them, the couple planned an outdoor wedding so their out-of-state families could experience the beauty of Tahoe.
Their wedding day was filled with meaningful moments—and a few unexpected ones, too. During their first look photos, a gust of wind sent Mary’s veil flying right off her head and straight over the hotel. Photographer Peter even tried to chase it down, but the veil seemed gone for good—until the venue’s coordinator, Kyra, came to the rescue and found it in the driveway. Mary made sure it stayed put after that, adding about fifty extra bobby pins before walking down the aisle—and during the ceremony, her bridesmaids even stood on her veil to keep it from flying away.
One of the most touching moments of the day happened during the ceremony, when their Uncle Jeff—who has since passed away—shared heartfelt words about life and love. His presence and message made the ceremony even more meaningful, creating a memory Mary and Jeffrey say they will cherish forever as they begin their next chapter together.
From a runaway veil during their first look to an unforgettable final dance where friends and family formed a circle around them singing Billy Joel’s “Piano Man” at the top of their lungs, Mary and Jeffrey’s celebration was equal parts heartfelt, joyful and wonderfully unscripted.
We’re thrilled to feature their love story in the Winter/Spring 2026 issue of Real Weddings.
