Plymouth Wedding Inspiration: Love You to the Moon and Back {Get to Know}

This year has been far from easy. Our original couple scheduled to model for us had to back out at the last minute, but luckily our partner (and beautiful new bride!) Savannah was able to fill in for us. She had just gotten hitched, after postponing due to COVID-19, and really made our “Love You to the Moon and Back” shoot beautiful! Get to know the bride, her experience modeling and her and her new husband’s love story below.

What made you want to model for this photo shoot?

I’ve always wanted to be a real bride model, and I had mentioned that to Real Weddings Magazine editor, Wendy, in the past—unfortunately, the couple who was going to be a part of this shoot had to back out last minute due to COVID-19, and Wendy called me…thankfully I had just gotten married earlier this year, and was available for the shoot (happening the next day), and (voilà) the stars aligned and I got to be a real bride model!

Tell us about your modeling experience. What was your favorite part of the day? How did you feel afterwards?

I absolutely loved this whole experience. I am so used to being behind the camera and having pictures taken of my desserts as part of my business, Savannahs Savory Sweets. It was so much fun working with everyone and seeing the creative process from another side. After the shoot, I was ready to go out and party—I felt so glamorous.

What was your favorite part of the shoot? Did you relate to the concept/theme?

I didn’t have a favorite part—it was all amazing. I absolutely loved the concept and the beauty in the venue and how rustic yet beautiful it all was.

Tell us about your love story. How did you meet? What was the proposal like?

I actually met Scott on the dating app, Bumble. We went on our first date and after that we were pretty much inseparable. I knew by the third date he was the one. The proposal took longer than I expected because according to Scott I kept figuring out his proposal plans—not my fault that I’m so smart! So he kept having to change his plan. When he finally did propose it was on a beach down in Ventura at sunset. It was beautiful moment. I was so excited, but it felt so natural with him.

Tell us about your wedding day.

Well our special day was definitely unique. Our original date was supposed to be May 2 but due to COVID-19 we had to postpone our wedding to late May. COVID-19 definitely had a different idea for us though. We decided to complete cancel the wedding and elope at the courthouse instead. Thankfully our originally booked venue was gracious enough to let us still take our wedding pictures there. That was such a special day. We got to do our first look where we both cried. It was so magical.

If you could offer any advice to engaged couples what would it be?

Simply enjoy each other and being engaged; there is no rush, and try not to over think things. Enjoy the little moments spent planning and sharing a beautiful wedding day with your partner.
