If it’s one-of-a-kind experiences you seek, San Francisco is the ideal setting for a weekend away with your wedding party. Not to be confused with the more boisterous bachelorette, this trip is all about taking a break from pre-nuptial stress. Check in: Hotel Tomo. 1800 Sutter Street, San Francisco. 415-921-4000.

Anime-ted brides will go gaga for Hotel Tomo, a stylish Joie de Vivre creation located in the heart of Japantown. Each of its 125 guestrooms comes equipped with luxe bath and body products, plush linens, and a Keurig coffee maker, but it’s the unexpected touches that truly make the stay.

In keeping with Tomo’s J-pop vibe, each room features a spectacular mural by illustrator Heisuke Kitazawa. When it’s time for a bite, head downstairs to Mum’s Restaurant for authentic, all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu, a delectable mix of thinly sliced rib-eye and veggies cooked right at your table in an iron pot.

Check out: Bliss San Francisco and Sae Skin Boutique.

If it’s pampering you seek, the Fully Loaded Facial at Bliss (located on the 4th floor of the W Hotel) is not to be missed. The $215 price tag is nothing to sneeze at, but can you really put a price on 90 minutes of the three Rs? (That’s refreshments, relaxation and rejuvenation.)

A day at the award-winning spa’s Bay Area outpost begins with an array of fruit-filled waters and snacks – think mini brownies, fine cheeses, and all the veggie spears your heart desires – and ends with you in a state of pure… well, you know. Less facial and more full-body transformation, the Fully Loaded includes a thorough cleansing, fruit acid wash, extractions, plumping collagen serum, skin-type-specific mask, O2 blast, and a head, neck, shoulder, arm, and foot massage. The cherry on top is the signature Hair Dew treatment, a combination of essential oils and conditioning cream applied to your tresses with the stimulating power of acupressure. Forget a glowing complexion – after an hour-and-a-half of “me” time, you’ll leave with a renewed outlook on life.

If you and your posse prefer a no-frills approach to skincare, Sae Skin Boutique offers an affordable, results-driven menu. Located in the city’s Sunset District, Owner Nai Saetern operates out of a single treatment room in Overland One Hair Salon, a cute and cozy local favorite for cuts and color. With just seven skincare services to choose from – a handful of facials, plus microdermabrasion and peels – there’s zero risk of option or wallet overload. Whether your skin is dehydrated, acneic, aging, or just in need of a quick touch-up, she’ll cure what ails you for $120 or less. The price is definitely right, but it’s Saetern’s wealth of knowledge and warm, caring demeanor that’ll make you a repeat client (despite the distance).
