Good afternoon, everyone — it’s Wednesday, so you know the drill! Today’s Real Weddings Wednesday is all about Amanda + Alec’s love story that started between two kids, and with a little time, became a wedding! This wedding is all about love, laughter, and fun. With stunning gowns and tuxes from Onyx Bridal, elegant hair and makeup by Personify Bridal, along with a scenic venue — AKA, River Highlands Ranch, you won’t want to miss today’s blog post!

Tell us a little about you and your beloved.

Alec and I met when we were 11 years old at a church camp and became best friends. Alec told me we would get married when we were 14, [and] I guess he was right! He proposed June 26th, 2021 on a beautiful bridge over the Yuba River (we used to go to that exact spot all the time when I moved home from college).

What was the best part of your wedding day?

The most amazing part of the day, for me, was walking down the aisle with my dad and I saw Alec waiting for me. It felt like no one else was there besides us. Alec’s favorite part was dancing with all of our friends and family. We did not leave the dance floor all night. It was so fun to know that everyone was there to celebrate us and we were surrounded by so much love.

What else would you like to share about your big day?

It was the best day ever! We had the most amazing venue, vendors, friends and family.

What advice would you give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now?

My best piece of advice is to choose a venue that you think is beautiful on its own. We did not have to add very much decor because our venue was beautiful with nothing added — it saved us a lot of money and time.

Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance?

The only thing I would have done differently is start my ceremony earlier so that we could have had more time for dancing after all the “logistics” were over.
