Here to inspire you, it’s Real Weddings Wednesdays! Today, we present Janice & Carlos!

Wedding Date: June 30, 2019

Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We first met as neighbors during grade school in Anchorage, Alaska. It wasn’t until high school where we parted ways as I moved to California. Five years later, we reunited as adults–and that’s where our story began! One day, Carlos took me on a date to the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco. It was such a beautiful, yet peaceful day in the garden. As I was admiring the scenery, I turned around and found him on one knee. He asked me to be his wife, and of course, I said yes! With tears running down our eyes, we were both filled with so much love, excitement and joy. We later began our wedding planning and fell in love with many venues. It wasn’t until we found ‘the one’ and decided on the special date of 6/30/2019.

What was the most amazing part of your day? Marrying my best friend and being able to celebrate it with our dear family and friends who traveled near and far.

What else would you like to share about your big day? Overall, it was beautiful! Beautiful [being] with the people we love most and [creating] new memories together. That was the most heart-felt memory of our day.

Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Plan ahead, make decisions for your own best interests and surround yourselves with loved ones who are in it 100% for you. (And plan your honeymoon shortly after the wedding!)

Anything you would have done differently given the chance? Yes, actually. For one, dedicate more time to yourselves before, during and after the wedding. Second, do the food tasting prior to finalizing a caterer. Third, choose a venue that isn’t just convenient, but one that you two absolutely adore. Lastly, a trusted wedding planner to guide the big day with ease.
