What made you want to model for this photo shoot?

A couple of weeks after Chase and I got engaged, I sat across the table from Debra at a local event who mentioned she worked for Real Weddings Magazine. She told me that they have a cover model contest and encouraged me to apply. Modeling is something I have always wanted to do, so naturally I followed all the steps, applied multiple times and crossed my fingers.

Tell us about your modeling experience. What was your favorite part of the day? How did you feel afterwards?

The overall experience was wonderful! It is challenging to pick just one favorite part, but I think it had to be the people that I worked with. I loved working with the stylists, photographers and artists.  Everyone was so professional and made the experience so much fun!

After the shoot, I felt so grateful. I was three months postpartum for the shoot. Being able to put on beautiful dresses and have my hair and makeup done felt refreshing. It was my first full day away from my baby and I can’t think of a better way to spend it.

How was modeling with your significant other?

I loved being able to do this with my husband Chase. He has the best personality which made it more fun. I could not have chosen a better person to marry!

What was your favorite part of the shoot? Did you relate to the concept/theme?

My favorite part of the shoot was seeing the different looks. So many of the looks were very different than what I chose for my wedding. Although I did relate to some of the blush and gold tones in the décor.

Tell us about your love story. How did you meet? What was the proposal like?

We met in April of 2011 when Chase was working at Hacienda del Rio as a bar back. I came into the bar and slipped him my number—he texted me before I made it home. By June we were in a relationship, and we dated for seven years before getting married. In that time, we both graduated from college, bought a home, stated careers and got two fur babies.

On my birthday in August of 2017, Chase told me that we were having a birthday dinner at Sienna in El Dorado Hills for just the two of us. When we got there, he had invited my parents, my brother, my sister, his parents, his aunt and uncle. We had dinner and then the birthday dessert came out and as everyone sang the plate was put down and it had “Will you marry me?” in chocolate. I looked over and Chase was on one knee. I said “yes!”

Tell us about your wedding day.

Our wedding day was a beautiful celebration full of love and happiness. It was a hot June day just before sunset at Serrano Country Club. We had about 150 of our closest family and friends there. The décor consisted of blush, gold and sage. I spent a good amount of time on my playlist which resulted in one of the best dance parties ever! Over a year later we still have people telling us how much fun they had. Many of them are surprised when I mention how my photographer had a family emergency and left as my guests arrived. My videographer stepped in as the main photographer and his wife and son became the second shooters. My pictures and video turned out beautiful and it all worked out.

If you could offer any advice to engaged couples what would it be?

Choose vendors whose personalities you enjoy. It sounds silly, but these are the people that will be surrounding you on your wedding day to ensure it all goes well.
