Sacramento Wedding Inspiration: The Future Has Arrived {Get to Know: Lynsey Gillard}

Did you know that in all of the photo shoot features that we do, we use real brides (and grooms, too!) as our models? It’s true! We love that these real brides are going through their wedding planning journey, just like you!

Now you get to learn a little bit more about our beautiful bride, Lynsey Gillard! Lynsey rocked our “The Future Has Arrived” photo shoot from the Summer/Fall 2014 issue! Isn’t she gorgeous?

Thank you for being such a great Real Weddings real bride model, Lynsey! Take it away:

Real Weddings: What made you want to model for this shoot?

Lynsey Gillard: I initially submitted my application for the cover model contest and made the final 10 but was not chosen. A few weeks later Wendy contacted me about modeling in this editorial photo shoot, and I was beyond excited! I absolutely loved my wedding—wearing the pretty dress and having my hair and makeup done—and modeling for a bridal magazine was kind of like getting to do it all over again! I’m the girl who has always loved looking at bridal magazines and even now that my wedding is over I still look at magazines. I thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see myself in one of the magazines.

RW: What was your favorite part of modeling?

LG: My favorite part of modeling was feeling so special during the process. Getting to wear a beautiful dress and jewelry and having a professional makeup artist and hairstylist made me feel like a celebrity! The entire team was so nice. It was really a fun experience.

RW: What was your favorite part of the shoot itself?

LG: My favorite part of this photo shoot was how “out of the box” it was. It was so different from the traditional wedding setup and was beyond anything I would imagine designing. This made it really fun! It was a very vogue/high fashion style that I’ve only seen on TV.

RW: What do you do for a living?

LG: I am a registered nurse (RN) at Kaiser Vacaville Trauma Center. This modeling experience was especially fun for me because I wear scrubs every day and rarely get to get all dressed up!

RW: Tell us about your own wedding.

LG: My wedding was at Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista. It was a very formal black and white wedding with touches of blush pink in the flowers. It was very classic and elegant and was the wedding of my dreams!

RW: What did your husband and the rest of your family think about you doing this photo shoot?

LG: My husband was so excited for me to have the opportunity to do this. He was particularly surprised when he found out that it was a futuristic theme, which made it even more exciting because it was something so different than the average wedding. My family was also very excited and supportive. Everyone is very eager to see how it turned out!
