Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We first met at Trinity College on my graduation day in 2006. We both attended Trinity, but had never met until then (Eric was a Senior when I was a Freshman). Soon after graduating, I decided to move to Boston with some of my friends. At that time, Eric also happened to be living in Boston’s North End. We hung out several times through mutual friends, but it wasn’t until Halloween 2009 that we reconnected. He was dressed as Aldous Snow (the character from the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and I was Marge Simpson. Eric had his shirt unbuttoned and six-pack abs drawn in with black marker. I had a tall blue wig on. Obviously, sparks flew between us.
A week later, Eric took me out to dinner and a few days after that he took me to my first Bruins game. Flash forward…in September of 2011 we moved to San Francisco together and have been living here ever since.
On May 31, 2014, Eric got down on one knee as the sun was setting in Kona, Hawaii and proposed to me at Browns Beach House located at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel. I, of course, said “yes!”.
What was the most amazing part of your day? Hands down the ceremony!! Having nearly all our closest family and friends with us in one place was very, very special. As I walked down the aisle, I felt so happy and I finally saw Eric for the first time that day (we didn’t do a first-look) and saw how happy he was, too! As I walked toward him he had the biggest smile on his face. I hope to never forget that look. We also each wrote our own vows and his were so amazing I actually have them framed.
