“My inspiration for this shoot came from the venue itself. It’s such a picturesque venue that I wanted to use colors and pieces that would help highlight some of the best features of the venue – the vineyards, outdoor fireplace, fountain, and of course the beautiful barn doors. Flowers in wine-like tones were the main focal point (next to the beautifully bottled wine from the vineyard), complemented by more neutral tones and a minimal setting to show off the elegance and simplicity that the venue offers. Most people think of wineries for rustic or more whimsical weddings but I wanted to show that a winery can be a versatile space for events by dressing it with some more modern pieces from some great local companies. I think the Chanel quote, “Simplicity is the key note of all true elegance” describes it best.
