“The best advice I can give when picking out their wedding cakes or desserts is to go with flavor and freshness,” says Frank Vilt of Frank Vilt’s Cakes. Don’t worry about tradition. “It’s your cake,” he says, “Be creative with it.”
“Buttercream cakes are an excellent way to save some money and are quite tasty,” says Vilt. “I like to think of them as cakes being made by grandma; flavors that will bring you back to childhood.”
Vilt’s dessert bars often feature mini treats such as cannoli, brownies, cream puffs and eclairs as well as mini cupcakes, and cheesecakes.
