Tell us a little about you and your beloved.

While how we met isn’t the most exciting story, our relationship has been my favorite adventure. One night, a good looking guy randomly started following me on Instagram so I decided to slide in his DMs. It has been the running joke that I made the first move, but lets just say – best decision I could have made. After dating for a few years he finally proposed. While he could have asked when we went skydiving, went on a hot air balloon ride, helicopter tour, or zip-lining, he decided to make it intimate. We have a spot in Tahoe near our family cabin where he asked me to be his girlfriend, where he first said ‘I love you’ and that is where he decided to propose. We were simply taking our dog on a walk to the spot and he got down on one knee.

What was the best part of your day?

The most amazing part of our day was getting to say “I do” in front of our family and friends. So many people traveled to be with us on that day and celebrate. We loved just getting to be together, dancing, and having a good time.

What else would you like to share about your big day?

Our big day almost didn’t happen… The day of the wedding there was a fire extremely close to the wedding venue. Thankfully we did not have to evacuate and in a couple hours the fire was maintained. It was a hot day in the 100’s but we didn’t let that keep us from having a great time.

Advice from the couple:

Remember: The day is about celebrating the love you two share. There is so much that goes into a wedding that it can be easy to get swept up in the small details or feel overwhelmed. The most important part is being present with your loved ones because the day goes by so quick! The Barns at Willow Creek.

Anything you would have done differently?

I wish we could have started the ceremony earlier to give us more time to celebrate. Once the dancing started I did not want it to end. And not seeing your loved ones until late afternoon makes the day go by even quicker once you’re finally together.
