Tell us a little about you and your beloved.

We met on Plenty of Fish in 2012 (the pre-Tinder era), messaged back and forth like pen pals for months, and finally met in person during finals at Sac State where I (George) was studying civil engineering and she was studying interior design. After finals, we went to see Capital Cities as our first date. After 10 years of dating and a home renovation “bonding” project, I finally popped the question.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

George: Reading our vows and dancing!
Celine: I would also say the best part of the day was being surrounded by our loved ones. We both got emotional sitting at our table and looking out at everyone talking and laughing with each other.

What else would you like to share about your big day?

It was expected to be record heat at 120 degrees on the day of our wedding. With the help of last-minute order of fans and extra water, everyone survived to have a great time.

What advice would you give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now?

Hire a wedding planner! You may think you can do things on your own, but it’s a full time job on its own. Don’t be afraid to ask for help so you can enjoy your special day without stressing details. Have plenty of liquids for guests!

Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance?

Verify a pickup address for a guest shuttle prior since our driver got lost [which caused] our guests to arrive late. Schedule the ceremony to start earlier so there is more time to dance, and coordinate a Meet-And-Greet song with [your] DJ to guarantee a picture with every person and every table.
