Here to inspire you, it’s Real Weddings Wednesdays! Today, we present Kami & Trina!

Bride and Bride hold each other face to face in a garden.

Tell us a little about you and your beloved: Trina and I met at work 12 years ago. Our sisters worked together and each had told us there were new jobs at a credit union in town. We both applied and got the job and worked together for a few years. We got engaged 10 years later while hiking near the beach in Fort Bragg.

What was the most amazing part of your day? It’s hard to pick out a favorite part because it all was amazing. But after the wedding and everyone had left, we realized we accidentally left ourselves stranded because I had given a car key to my mom and forgot to get it back. We had about 15 minutes while waiting for a ride to sit outside and process the amazing night we just had, just the two of us in the quiet. It was really special.

Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Do not feel like you need to stick to any traditions. We had a lot of things that weren’t traditional. And it was exactly what we wanted. Also, having a venue that does it all is worth it! My mom still raves about the hospitality and level of detail The Firehouse gave us.
