Tell us a little about you and your beloved.
We met during our undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada Reno while participating in the marching band. We had met a few times through friends, but it was after another relationship fell through and Lucas reached out to comfort me that we found ourselves talking. We had our first date, ice skating at the Aces’ ballpark. We then made everything “official” the day after Valentine’s Day in 2017. We were quite adventurous in our dates with hikes, water sports, and more. After graduating in 2018, Lucas went to law school and we were long distance. In June of 2019, we went on a hike to Marlette Lake where Lucas proposed with two of our close friends. We started planning our wedding for September of 2021. The Covid pandemic played its hand, and we postponed our wedding for 2022. With the change of dates, it gave us a long engagement, which led to a long time to plan our wedding. We had so much support between the venue, and our family.
What was the best part of your day?
We had a last dance that was just the two of us, while our guests were preparing for the exit. At this point in the day, it finally sunk in that we had actually gotten married. We had the entire song to soak up the night and had time for just us two.
What else would you like to share about your big day?
We are very thankful for all of the support from our friends and family.
Advice from the couple:
Be prepared for things to not go as planned. If there are certain things that you want a certain way, make sure there is a back up plan. For the other things, do not stress. The most important part is you and your partner. Everything else is just extra.
Anything you would have done differently?
Anything that we wish was different, was out of our control.
