Tell us a little about you and your beloved.

Matthew and I had met at Chico State through his best friend. Nothing came of it and I did not see him for five years. Then we both had decided to make Match.com profiles and see if we could meet someone through the free 30-day subscription. We matched and went on our first day at a brewery in Livermore, CA. Five years later, and he proposed at our favorite hiking spot with our two dogs. He asked me to take a photo of him and the dogs. As I was taking the photo he got down on one knee! We decided to do a small wedding in his grandparents backyard because both his grandparents were not doing well at the time and we wanted them to be present. We decided to do our “big wedding” at Bear Valley Ski Resort. It is an area we go to a lot and we have a family cabin in the area. The ceremony spot is what sold us and knew it was the perfect place!

What was the best part of your day?

We loved being able to stand in the rain, read our vows and be with our closest people at the top of the mountain! It was intimate and what we continue to talk about.

What else would you like to share about your big day?

We assumed that having a June wedding would mean that it would be warm and there would be no need for a jacket. But of course, that 20% chance of rain became 100%! It made for the most gorgeous wedding and something we will never forget.

Advice from the couple:

So many things will go wrong, but everything will go right! Don’t sweat all the little things that might happen and go with the flow!

Anything you would have done differently?

I would have hired my own even coordinator.
