The Couple: Kristine & Noel

Wedding Date: September 22, 2013

Tell us a little about you and your beloved: Noel and I met back in 2011 through mutual friends. During that time, he was a local promoter for the nightclubs in Sacramento along with a few of our friends. My girlfriend Denise had invited me out for a few nights with our friends at District 30 and The Park. Those few nights we spent hanging out made quite an impression on both of us. Soon, we began dating and never looked back ever since.

My husband likes to think he proposed to me when we got our first puppy together, Gypsy, a miniature Australian shepherd. He knew after that, we were meant for something greater. Our proposal was simple. Noel had to special order my ring because I had small hands. By the time my ring finally came in, he was so anxious that he just couldn’t wait to propose.

His plan of waiting and proposing to me in San Francisco went out the window. As he came home late from work from bartending, I awoke to Noel bedside, on one knee proposing to me at 3 a.m.! He was lucky I wasn’t screaming with excitement or else our neighbors would have thought our house was being robbed or on fire! Lol. I simply cried and replied yes as we embraced each other.

The wedding planning was stressful but fun. We did everything we wanted and made sure it represented us and our relationship. Of course, we had help from our family, friends, and our bridal party which we couldn’t thank them enough!

Our wedding coordinator from Vizcaya, Aubrey White, did such an amazing job with our wedding along with our vendors, Lance Casazza, Jackie’s Flowers, Mia Hope Photography, Linda Wilmarth, and DJ JB (Logan Aguirre) – who were practically like family and received high praises from all our guests.

Despite all the craziness going on our wedding day, Aubrey handled it like a champ and made sure everything was down to the tee. Lastly special thanks to Brooke Tachibana, Trevor Shults, Todd Zancaner, Vic Torza, Brian Lambrechts (Youngs Market), Pour House, Suleka Lindley (Thai Basil), Andy Duong, Chantal and Manny Panis, Grant Salge and my mother, Cheryl!

What was the most amazing part of your day? Our first look.

What else would you like to share about your big day? The day before gave us quite the scare! Our wedding was on Sunday and our rehearsal was the day before on Saturday. No one had told us it would be raining like a monsoon that day. All day Saturday, it was just pouring rain as if came out of the left field! We held our rehearsal indoors that day and we both tried to stay calm. We had our fingers crossed hoping for sunny weather on our big day.
