“I believe that our focus for weddings has become more about having a wedding that impresses our guests than about inviting the right people who will support us during our marriage to participate in a very important day of our lives. If we follow the model of so many successful couples during the restrictions of World War II, most of those ceremonies were very simple and intimate, including only those closest to the couple. Many of those marriages lasted their lifetimes and they did not start out by going into tremendous debt for a one day event.”
